Talk About It
(Krista Bennie)
Wait stop, I’ve got something to say and I don’t care if you don’t wanna hear it
Because you’re too uncomfortable or too embarrassed
I’m not the only one who’s had a minor freak out
About the trials that we face in this world
Pre chorus
So I'm lookin around, tryin to find who im gonna talk to
Unfortunately everybody’s pretending that they’ve all got it together
CHORUS
I've got something to say
You’ve got stories to help me on this road
We have all be through pain
God did not intend for us to walk alone
Why don’t we just talk about it, we could really help each other
I think part of abundant life, is community
What are we afraid of, Let’s open up our heart and see
If we’re not sharing what we’ve learned we’re losing to the enemy
We’re all hiding, refusing to offer what's inside
We could hold each other up and take each day in stride
CHORUS

A couple of years ago I was going through a hard time doubting and questioning God and I desperately needed someone to talk to. Every time I thought of someone who I could go talk to I got the impression that they wouldn't understand. Everyone looked like they had it all together, like they never questioned God ever, which of course is ridiculous but that was the picture I had of my friends at that time. I finally sat down and talked to them and of course they were like "no way! we don't have it all figured out either!" This song came out of the frustration of feeling like I was the only one with questions and it would be unacceptable to talk about our fears and doubts about God.
