Krista Bennie: Music/Lyrics

You Missed Out

(Krista Bennie)
Your words are hanging in the air, I'm starin at the door you just closed

I'm crying again but you don't care cuz those were your intentions

This happens almost every night, I tell you over that it's not right

That one day I'll get out; you just smile

You're standing in your doorway baby looking at me waiting for me to explain but

(chorus)

What do you want me to do, what do you want me to say

I'm leaving and I know you never never loved me anyway

Baby baby babe it's you that's haunting my dreams at night

I'm tired of all the fights, in the end you'll see that you missed out on me

Now I'm a girl who knows just who she is but somehow

somehow you took that away from me

I could always be connected to you because of what you did

but un uh oh no here's where it ends because

I'm standing in your doorway baby, sayin goodbye this is the last that you'll see of me

(chorus)

It was never equal ground all you did was take

did you ever think about the state you kept me in

you took my heart broke it and handed back the pieces

but it's over it's over it's over, it's finally over

(chorus)

It's you that missed out, it's you that missed out on me (x3)

(chorus)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was in a relationship my freshman year of college before I knew the Lord.
The relationship was manipulative and he used to make me cry to say the least.
Two years out of the relationship I still believed the things he called me and said
about me and I couldn't believe that I was still hurt. It took a lot of prayer, a lot
of crying, and a lot of listening to a song called "play fair" by Betsy Walker over
and over again but I was finally able to let go and see these things as lies. As
the Lord was healing me, I wrote this song. It's sort of my last say about the
relationship. I could finally say that it wasn't my fault, I wasn't who he said I was,
and in the end, see that I was a great person that he missed out on.
